Leila is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Energy Geosciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She brings a strong background in hydrology, hydrometeorology, and ecohydrology. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, where her research delved into information-driven causal structures in complex biosphere-atmosphere systems.
