Julie Bobyock
Julie Bobyock is a communication specialist on Berkeley Lab's Earth and Environmental Sciences Area (EESA) communications team. Her work transforms technical EESA research into engaging narratives and visuals for press releases, Q&A's, social media, websites, fact sheets, multimedia storyboards and more to convey impact and implications of EESA's research on the environment and local, national, and global communities.
Julie started her journey at Berkeley Lab as a two-term SULI intern and then student assistant on the EESA communications team. She studied environmental science at University of New Hampshire, where she was a staff writer and editor for the university's newspaper focusing on environmental reporting, and also conducted research on freshwater systems and permafrost thaw. Through it all, Julie has used her eagerness to learn, passion for the environment, and research and writing skills to excite a broader audience about environmental science and communicate its significance in a changing climate.
